I found a red fox den yesterday. I was very fortunate to spend some time with four very cute fox kits. Here is one peeking out of the den.
It snowed Monday evening and Tuesday morning. There was still snow on the ground when I found the den.
Initially I thought there were three kits.
But then a fourth appeared.
I could tell they were playing and interacting just out of view. But at one point two got in a tussle at a place where I had a clean shot.
But soon they were friends. Note that the one on the right has a cowlick on its forehead — perhaps from the fight.

While I was photographing the kits, a Black-and-White Warbler came by and begged to be photographed.
It sure was an exciting and rewarding day yesterday.
