Here is the Sugar River as it exits Lake Sunapee. When there is open water mallards congregate here.
A short distance from that spot is Burkehaven Harbor. Many of the island-folks’ docks were on shore and the area was quiet. You can zoom in and see Mount Sunapee above Ray’s boathouse.
Down the lake to the south is Newbury Harbor. Here is a photo taken just before a great snowshoe hike over the last section of the SRK Greenway Trail.
