I was photographing the fall foliage yesterday along Blow-me-down Brook in Cornish with a wide angle lens on a tripod. Fortunately I had a second camera body with slightly longer lens around my neck. Suddenly a group of perhaps 6 wood ducks took off from the brook a bit behind me and flew past. I shot furiously. Then a few seconds later another group, then another. I didn’t get a count, but I’m guessing there were more than a dozen.
