Yesterday morning, a few birds made an appearance in Lyme including wood ducks at a considerable distance. But the star was a great blue heron that flew right toward me and sat still for quite a while. I was partly hidden by weeds that I photographed through. The world doesn’t need more GBH photos, but this one was quite nice in the 7:10 AM light.
At Pompy I got a pair hooded merganser and a common merganser. Back in my Etna yard the big surprise was a woodcock.
