Sunapee Reflections

The last kayak ride of the season, most likely, carried me across smooth waters to and from Great Island. With the lake so cold this time of year I wouldn’t have wanted to make the ride in choppy conditions. The island was magical in the late-day light when I returned to Burkehaven Harbor.
Along the way I found the reflections in the lake more interesting than the reality of the buildings and vegetation. So that is what I photographed, mostly. In the summer about the only time one gets such quiet water is early in the morning. Some of the reflections I photographed would have been more mirror-like if it wasn’t for my kayak and my desire to get home before dark. But the patterns created by the ripples enhanced some of the images.

I loaded my kayak on my car and before I could strap it down a thin sheet of ice covered its surface. Here is a slide show of some of my images from the afternoon of November 21.
